This is such a hidden gem. Back behind some hotels, this was the best experience we had in Baton Rouge. Everyone should visit. If I didn’t live over an hour away I’d be here way more often. The owner came by and was so charming and kind. Beautiful presentation of the entrees and tasted fantastic. Can’t say enough.

We really enjoyed Cheng’s Restaurant and Bar. The atmosphere is very friendly, a family restaurant vibe. The service is first class, quick, friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed the food that we ordered. I had a shrimp and broccoli with a sweet sauce that was delicious. A very good spot to eat.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ordered takeout and everything was absolutely delicious. The 5 spice chicken was outstanding—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The bok choy was my favorite, fresh and seasoned just right. The Mongolian beef was also excellent, tender with great flavor. Quality food and a great takeout experience. We’ll definitely be ordering again!
Great service - very attentive and beautiful meal! It was beautifully plated and tasted great! Order crab rangoons and walnut shrimp - good portions on the entrees and very fresh! Crab rangoons were more cream cheese and a bit hard around the corners but still super tasty.
As an Asian American from large cites like NYC and Houston, I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the food at Cheng’s. The dishes were tasty, fresh, creative and presented well. The restaurant was clean and service was friendly. Having driven over 6 hours, we were very hungry and walked across the parking lot to eat an early dinner……And we ate and ate. I would highly recommend this place. It’s a hidden gem off the highway. Btw, the prices were very reasonable too.
Update: second visit was just as good! We love this place! Hands down best Chinese cuisine we've had in years. We had stopped going out for Chinese food on date nights because it was always mediocre, we are so glad we found this place. The restaurant is so clean, service is fantastic and the food was delicious. Even the restrooms were spotless. We had the Tangerine Beef and the Bok choy with shitake mushrooms. Crab Rangoon, egg roll, egg drop soup. Cleaned our plates and we don't feel overstuffed.
